Minutes of the November 2013 Supervisors' Meeting

Regular Meeting Minutes
November 4, 2013

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, November 4,  2013 at the Silver Lake Township building.  Francis Fruehan called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm opened with a salute to the Flag.

The minutes from the October regular meeting were read and approved on a motion made by Evan Everitt and seconded by Francis Fruehan, all approved.  The Treasurer Report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Evan Everitt and seconded by Francis Fruehan.

Correspondence:  No Act 14 Notices received.  Francis Fruehan read a letter received from Silver Lake Township Municipal Authority Board Member Julie Dantini. Her term expires on 12/31/13 and the letter stated that she did not wish to seek reappointment.

Public Comment:  Vera Scroggins asked about a check issued to Stoney Mountain.  Evan Everitt explained they are a vendor who hauled material for a road project. 

New Business:  Francis Fruehan said it will be necessary to schedule additional budget work sessions.  Francis Fruehan made a motion to advertise for Monday, November 18 and Monday, November 25 for Budget work sessions. Work sessions will begin at 7:00 pm.  The 2014 budget will be presented at the December regular township meeting.  Supplemental budget resolutions will be done to handle the Act 13 funds.  Vera Scroggins asked about the percentage of tax reduction.  Francis Fruehan said he would like to see a mil.

Evan Everitt gave the results from the equipment advertised on Auctions International.  The 1985 Chevy high bid was $3,100 and the Flink spreader $210.00.  Evan Everitt made a motion to accept the high bid for the truck but reject the high bid on the spreader, Francis Fruehan seconded, all approved.

Francis Fruehan read the police report with 31 incidents for the month of October.  Vera Scroggins asked for the breakdown of the incidents for the month.  She was specifically interested in burglaries.  Francis Fruehan said the report reflected three and the details would be posted in the newspaper. 

 Evan Everitt gave the road report.  The Dirt/Gravel Road project has been completed.  Working on ditch maintenance and getting equipment for winter.  Driveway Permits – None.  Road Crossing Permits – None.   Assessment Permits – None.  As there was no further business presented, Francis Fruehan made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Evan Everitt seconded, all approved.
