Minutes of the October 2015 Supervisors' Meeting
October 5, 2015
Francis Fruehan called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and called for a salute to the Flag.
The minutes from the September meeting were read and approved on a motion made by Evan Everitt and seconded by Butch Delousia, all approved.
The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Evan Everitt and seconded by Butch Delousia, all approved.
Public Comment: Tilman Smith spoke and said he moved to the township about nine months ago. He has worked in the police department in other areas and offered his services to the Silver Lake Police Department.
Earl Lesch complimented the road crew on the excellent work they have done on the township roads. Vera Scroggins asked if there was any communication from SWN Energy regarding gas activity in the township. Francis Fruehan said there has been no Act 14 Notices received. He added that it has been some time since any Notice has been received and will eliminate from the agenda until there is activity to report.
Francis Fruehan said it is time to start working on the 2016 Budget and asked for a motion to advertise for budge work sessions for the following Monday evenings at 7:00 pm at the township building – 10/12/15 (per the organizational meeting is already scheduled if needed), 10/19/15, 10/26/15, 11/09/15 and 11/16/15. Francis Fruehan made a motion to advertise for the work sessions, Evan Everitt seconded, approved. Francis Fruehan explained that millage for the equipment fund was reduced and the millage for the building fund increased so the loan on the building could be paid off. The building will be paid off in 2016. The millage for these two funds will need to be adjusted.
Francis Fruehan said a letter of resignation was received from Josh Hale who is a part-time police officer. Francis Fruehan made a motion to accept the letter of resignation, Butch Delousia seconded, all approved.
Francis Fruehan read the police report with 21 incidents for the month of September. The report will be posted on the bulletin board after the meeting and the full report will run in the local newspapers.
Evan Everitt gave the road report. Ditch work will continue as well as getting the equipment ready for winter.
Assessment Permits – One to Morrison for two agricultural buildings on Donovan Road.
Driveway Permits: None
Butch Delouisa made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Francis Fruehan seconded, all approved.
As no further business was presented, Evan Everitt made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Butch Delousia seconded, all approved.
